Something personal. Mysterious. Quietly powerful.

Maybe you're in a season of change, grief, or growth. Or, you’re just ready to surround yourself with beauty that has meaning and soul.

Maybe your space feels a little bare—but more than that, you feel a quiet ache for something that reflects you. Something that holds your memories, dreams, and spirituality.

You deserve art that meets you where you are.

Soulscapes are created to hold space for your story. They’re a conversation between your unseen world and mine.

What are you ready to honour, remember, or call into being?

Your personalized abstract artwork is waiting for you.

This is a custom, abstract, mixed-media painting created through intuitive ritual, reflection, and deep listening—drawing from the prompts you share, and the tarot I pull.

How the Commission Process Works:

  1. You fill out this form, where you can write down any requests or prompts you have for your piece (e.g. colour, theme, motifs, etc.). Feel free to be as general or as specific as you’d like.

  2. I will email you to confirm your commission, ask you to sign the commissions contract, and confirm the turnaround time.

  3. I email you an invoice for the first payment (half of the total). I begin working on your piece once the invoice has been paid.

  4. I start by spending some time journalling, reflecting, and drawing some tarot cards based on your prompts.

  5. I create a one-of-a-kind painting for you, using your prompts as a guide. The piece will still be in my unique style, so I highly recommend taking a look at my previous work and the examples below, to judge whether we’re a good fit!

  6. I will email you once the piece is complete, and you decide whether you’d like to see a picture before it is shipped, or if you’d prefer to be surprised.

  7. I email you the invoice for the second payment, as well as the shipping cost. I mail the piece once the invoice has been paid.

  8. The piece is delivered successfully to you and you are delighted and (ideally) you have it framed.

Why Me? (About the Artist)

I’ve always been drawn to the unseen and the magical—the things living just beneath the surface, in the cracks of reality, and liminal spaces.

Whether through painting or writing, art is how I explore and experience these things.

As someone who lives with chronic mental illness, creativity has become a lifeline. A way to soften into myself again. A way to make sense of a chaotic world while navigating a chaotic mind.

My practice is deeply intuitive, rooted in wonder, play, and a quiet yet firm belief that beauty and meaning are always available—even in the messy, tender parts of life.

When I create Soulscapes, I approach each piece as a kind of ritual. I hold space for your story, your prompt, your energy—and then I let it flow through me, onto the paper. It is part reflection, part ritual, and part mystery.

Each Soulscape is created with intention, from the moment I read your words to the final brushstroke. I work with your prompts, pull some tarot cards and reflect on the energy you're calling in—then channel it all into the flow of intuitive creation.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to honour your inner world with something lasting and meaningful—this might be it.

I only take a small number of commissions at once, so I can give each one the attention and spaciousness it deserves.

Commissioned art might feel like a luxury, but it's an accessible way to own a truly personal piece that reflects your unique story and creative voice. Unlike mass-produced decor, commissioned artwork creates a one-of-a-kind connection between you and the artist, resulting in a piece that holds special meaning in your space.

If you’ve felt the pull… I’d love to co-create with you.

 FAQs

  • A Soulscape is a one-of-a-kind intuitive painting, created just for you, using primarily watercolour with some acrylics. It's not a portrait of your face—it's a portrait of your inner world. Of your energy. Of your longing. Of whatever you’re carrying, calling in, or quietly grieving.

It’s part painting, part ritual. I sit with your words, your requests, the feelings you’ve shared, or whatever you’re moving through. I sit with it all, reflect, journal, let it simmer. I pull some tarot cards that feel most aligned with your prompts and let them inform and inspire the piece—then I let go and paint like a person possessed (but in a gentle, sparkly way). The result is a visual echo of something personal, unseen, and completely yours.

Think of it as an emotional artifact. A love letter to your inner world. A portal. A vibe. (We’re all about the vibes here.) A spell in watercolour.

A Soulscape is a way to say: This is mine. This is me. This is something I can’t explain, but now I can hang it on my wall.

You don’t need to “get” abstract art or be deeply spiritual. You just have to feel the pull.

This would also make a special gift for anyone drawn to spirituality, mindfulness, and meaningful home decor.

  • It depends on my workload, but for the small and medium size pieces, the turn-around time is roughly two weeks.

For the largest size, turnaround time is three to four weeks. If you have a deadline (e.g. it’s a gift for someone), or special anniversary, I will do my best to accommodate you, but can’t make any promises.

When I email you to confirm your commission, I will also confirm the turnaround time.

  • I primarily work in these three sizes as they allow me to create my best work, and they are traditional watercolour sizes. However, I'm open to discussing other sizes for special projects - just keep in mind this will affect pricing and production time. Feel free to reach out to discuss any specific needs!

  • I primarily work with watercolour (and some acrylic) paint and use 100% cotton high-quality watercolour paper.

  • No, the paintings will be sent unframed. Upon receival, framing is highly recommended for watercolour paintings to protect them from exposure. However, the pieces are lightly varnished, which provides greater protection from dust and humidity.

  • Your prompt can be as simple or detailed as you'd like! You might share:

    • Colours you're drawn to

    • Feelings you'd like the piece to evoke (e.g. peaceful, calm, melancholy, etc.)

    • Elements from nature that inspire you (ocean, mountains, sky, celestial, etc.)

    • A specific mood or atmosphere (e.g. dreamy, energetic, etc.)

    • Any meaningful symbols or concepts

    • Themes (e.g. love, grief, memory, etc.)

Remember, this is an intuitive process - I'll use the details you share as inspiration while creating something unique in my signature style.

You're not expected to have a specific image in mind; rather, you're sharing elements that will guide the creative journey.

  • Absolutely. I am not a trained counsellor/therapist by any means, but my hope is that through my intuitive and reflective process, I can create something that provides a sense of healing and allows you to feel seen (if that is what you are looking for).

    • Prices are listed in CAD.

    • A non-refundable deposit (half of the total amount) is required before starting a commission. Once I accept your commission, I will send you an invoice via PayPal. I will begin the painting once the payment has been received

    • After the customer approves the final work, an invoice for the remaining payment will be sent. The artwork will be mailed upon receival of payment.

    • The initial deposit is non-refundable.

    • If I cannot finish your commission for whatever reason, you will be refunded in full.

    • No refunds will be issued once artwork has been completed.

  • Shipping is not included in the price. After your piece is mailed, I will send you a separate invoice for shipping costs. Feel free to reach out to me with your shipping address and desired size for a price estimate.

Pickup and free hand delivery is available for local customers in Montreal.

  • Yes! Feel free to email me at nico@nicosakaki.com for a shipping estimate.

  • As this is an intuitive process, there will be no check-in points and you will only see the end result. Upon completion, you can choose whether you would like to see a picture of your painting and have the chance to approve it before it it shipped, or if you’d prefer to be surprised.

  • No changes may be made once the piece is completed. In the event that the customer is not satisfied with their paintings, one of two options are available:

    1. After speaking to you regarding your dissatisfaction with the piece, I will create one additional painting for you. This applies to all sizes.

    2. You may choose to end the commission process. The deposit will not be refunded, but you will not be required to pay the remaining amount.

  • I do everything to ensure that your painting gets to you in perfect condition. However, in the unlikely event that the painting is damaged in any way when you receive it, please let me know. I will request that you email me a picture of the damage.

The 7 x 10 inch and 9 x 12 inch paintings are mailed in a sturdy, flat, cardboard envelope. The 22 x 15 inch paintings are rolled up and mailed in a cardboard tube.

  • Yes—email me to inquire more about this if you’re interested.

  • If something in you is whispering yes—trust that. We’re often taught to ignore our desires, especially the tender ones that feel impractical, strange, or too big.

But your desire is sacred. It’s guidance. It’s your inner compass pointing you towards something real.

This might be right for you if:

    • You’re looking for art that doesn't just match your couch, but matches your spirit.

    • You want something meaningful to mark a significant moment in your life, something to ground you in a time of change

    • A permission slip to follow your weird, beautiful longing

    • You’re curious about what it means to be seen without needing to explain yourself

This offering is not about solving a problem in the traditional sense. It’s about listening to that quiet, persistent pull—the part of you that wants to feel more connected, more seen, more you.

And if you're not sure, that’s okay too. Take a breath. Tune in.

If you’ve found yourself here, feeling curious or a little lit up inside… that’s probably your answer.

Either way I love you and hope you have a wonderful day. <3
